Will O’Neill Guest Letter: Vote Tony Strickland

FROM STU NEWS

Newport Beach voters received their ballots this week for a special election in California State Senate District 36. Our entire Newport Beach City Council has endorsed Hon. Tony Strickland for this election. (So have I!)

By way of a quick background, the 36th District encompasses Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, La Palma, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Clemente, and areas of Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Midway City, Stanton, Cypress, Rossmoor and Los Alamitos. (It also contains Artesia, Cerritos and Hawaiian Gardens in L.A. County.)

Supervisor Janet Nguyen resigned from the seat earlier this month in order to be sworn in to the Orange County Board of Supervisors following her large victory during this election cycle. She was a particularly good and helpful senator for our city of Newport Beach and I’m glad that she will continue to serve our county on the board.

Tony has a deep wealth of knowledge serving locally and in Sacramento. Tony served as Huntington Beach’s Mayor in 2023 and previously served in the State Assembly from 1998-2004 and later in the State Senate from 2008-2012.

Please join local elected officials, police officers and firefighters throughout the county and vote for Tony Strickland for State Senate District 36.
